Across these projects Matthews makes music that reflects the ideas, life and struggles experienced through Blackness, bringing family, culture and faith to light. His music stretches from soul, punk, jazz, rap and experimental. Fittingly, The New York Times describes Pink Siifu as "a Shape-Shifting Musician With One Demand: Don’t Box Me In." He is also known for the breadth of his collaborations having worked with artists like Foushee, Nick Hakim, and 454, as well as highly acclaimed producers like Kenny Beats and Dean Blunt.
