Shigecki is the alias of Joshua Kohno, the Japanese-Mexican artist based in Los Angeles. A Los Angeles native, Kohno grew up within the local music scene through DJ'ing underground raves and playing in bands at independent venues and house shows throughout his teen years. His drive and constant desire to be in the action led him to form a close knit of collaborators within LA and NYC. In 2021, he released his debut solo EP, Growing Pains, through Terrible Records. Recently, he has been writing and producing with A.G. Cook, Caro (of Planet 1999), Donna Missal, Blaketheman1000, Frost Children, CLIP, Alaska Reid, Namasenda, and Vagabon
